By first responders, for first responders
Serving those who spend their lives serving others.
First responders and their families deserve care from people who understand the job.
SEVA connects them with licensed professionals, facilitators, and trained peers, along with education, legal retreat programs, and ongoing support. Whether you are looking for support or want to help provide it, this is where it starts.
Our mission
SEVA exists to serve those who spend their lives serving others. Our mission is to make culturally competent care, legal psychedelic retreats, and ongoing support more accessible to first responders and their families.
Our vision
A future where first responders and their families can ask for help without shame, find care from people who understand them, and stay connected to support throughout their lives. Investing in their well-being is investing in the families, teams, and communities they serve.
Who we serve
Who is SEVA for?
First responders
Police, fire, EMS, dispatch, and corrections. Active or retired.
Families
Spouses, partners, and families, with support for what you carry too.
Supporters
People and organizations who want to back this work.
Departments and researchers
Public service departments and research institutions that want to collaborate in advancing this work.
Who we are
Active and former first responders, licensed clinicians, and facilitators who know the job from the inside.
Many of us have done the job. The rest have spent their careers learning how to care for the people who do.
We also work alongside departments, retreat providers, researchers, and nonprofits to make that care easier to reach.
What we do
Support before, during, and after
Whether you are curious or ready, you do not have to figure this out alone.
Find support
Introductions to licensed professionals and legal retreat programs, with paths for those who need funding.
Stay connected
A monthly integration group, private and first-responder only, with people who get it.
Learn
Plain-language education about legal psychedelic care, and help preparing if you decide to go.
The full SEVA website, with retreat support, our monthly integration group, and our provider directory, launches in December.
Why SEVA
First responders deserve culturally competent care.
You are not broken. You are having a normal response to extremely abnormal experiences.
SEVA’s peers have felt and witnessed the cumulative burden of service from firsthand experience. You don’t have to explain the job to us because we get it and understand what it takes to ask for help.
The name comes from seva, the Sanskrit word for selfless service. It guides how we do this work and how we care for one another, through compassion in action.
Support the work
This work happens because people believe it matters.
Most of what SEVA does happens on our own volunteer time, and is made possible through funding and philanthropy.
Your support helps more first responders and their families get education, legal retreat opportunities, and ongoing support from people who understand the job. If you would like to back this work, reach out and we will share how.
Want to know when the full site launches?
Leave your email and we will send one note when it is live in December. Nothing else.
Your privacy
Is this safe and confidential?
Legal paths only
We only point to legal retreat programs and licensed professionals.
Handled privately
Nothing personal is collected through this website. Anything we need to confirm, like joining our integration group, is handled directly and privately with you.
